Code of Conduct

Awareness of social and environmental issues has long been an integral part of Swedish Match's corporate culture. Swedish Match believes that motivated employees and a healthy work environment, as well as social and environmental undertakings, are key success factors and provide a solid foundation for long-term growth.

Swedish Match has chosen to build policies around the social and environmental issues most relevant to its business. These policies are based on the Swedish Match core values and constitute the Group's Code of Conduct. It shall serve as a basis for decision-making on issues of social responsibility that arise in the conduct of the business.

The Code of Conduct encompasses, among others, policies for Tobacco, Business Ethics, Environment, and Fraud Response, on which you can read more below. The policies agree in all essential respects with international conventions and guidelines on human rights and labor conditions.

Group Environmental Policy

Swedish Match's environmental vision is to achieve a balance in which the Group consistently achieves its commercial objectives while fulfilling the requirements of shareholders, customers and other stakeholders. The purpose of the Group Environmental Policy is to ensure that Swedish Match commits itself to continual environmental improvement and prevention of pollution in all activities, products and services.

Fraud Response Policy

Swedish Match employees are required to maintain a culture of honesty and opposition to fraud and corruption. The Group Policy on Fraud Response reinforces the Group's approach by setting out the ways in which employees can voice their concerns about suspected fraud or corruption. It also outlines how the Group will deal with such complaints.
